Mike Krick of Lima Ohio might just look like a regular person doing his meter reading job for American Electric Power, but if you take a closer look you while he is working you would notice he carries a camcorder. He is always prepared for filming objects in the skies that could be UFOs. To date he has seven possible UFO sightings. Krick is president of LAURA in Lima Ohio. LAURA is an affectionate name for Local Area UFO Research Association. It was founded in the spring of 2004 by John P. Timmerman, a local and sometimes internationally known expert in "UFOlogy", with over 60 years of research and advocacy behind him.
Timmerman formed the group as an off-shoot of the Center for UFO Studies in Chicago. The members come from a wide variety of backgrounds, experience and personal beliefs and get together to exchange information and inform the public about the reality of extraterrestrial phenomena. While most members are firmly-planted believers, doubters are welcome, according to Dick Knowles, Lima resident, regular attendee and transmitter engineer for a local tv station.
As more and more programs, press and media is available on UFOs Knowles and others said they think UFOlogy will become more accepted as the information becomes public.
